KUMARUARA AMAZONIAN ART
Serenity, elegance, and the grace of the solitary bird over the river.
The Canto da Garça-Azul earrings captivate with their understated palette and contemporary aesthetic. Handcrafted with glass beads in muted blue-gray, earthy lilac, ivory white, and black, their design features an upper geometric lattice of protective diamonds, giving way to a straight and fluid fall of fringes that evoke the measured elegance and plumage of the blue heron perching along the banks of the Tapajós.
This piece was created by the Kumaruara Tribe of the Muruari village, in the Lower Tapajós, Amazon. Each stroke transforms the material into a canvas of memory, spirituality, and deep connection with the forest.
More than a ceremonial jewel, Canto da Garça-Azul is a living manifesto. Just as the bat disperses the kumarú seed throughout the jungle to sustain the ecosystem, this piece carries a message of strength, resistance, and the identity of native peoples. An unrepeatable work designed to adorn the body with belonging and rooted art.
